We saw our first gull in the Basin for '03. Unfortunately it was too far to positively ID with binocs, loafing near the old fence line at the shore south of the park. Roughly CAGULL sized adult with a light-gray mantle. Nearby were 15 Canada Geese pausing desultorily. Looking the other direction: 3 Greater Scaup, drake Cinammon Teal, a few Green-winged Teal, and finally a Spotted Towhee singing near the County Park parking lot. Finally some birds.
