Hi all, Drove partway and skiied the rest of the way to Dechambeau pond area, where spring had sprung! Another say's phoebe, apir of Mt bluebirds, an Am. pipit, small flock of red-winged blackbirds including some singing males. 7 Lesser scaup (they seemed to be mostly as pairs). A group of GW teal were displaying to females, and the quieter cinnamon teals already looked to be mostly paired up. There were 2-3 rough-legged hawks (spring migrants maybe since it seemed that they had split from Dechambeau earlier with the heavy snow). Then....down at the distant shore below the big meadow, were lots of white dots of GULLS!! 200-300. They're back!
