The Basin is awfully quiet these days but things are starting to get agitated in their winter haunts. Today, I went out to Parker Creek and saw an adult Bald Eagle cruz by, headed to June Lake. Also, we've got a first of spring Say's Phoebe hawking insects off of roofs in Mono City. Thank god for adventurous insectivores. A Song Sparrow was also heard humorously practicing his singing in the falling snow. Its all about more daylight from here on out until Solstice!!!!
