today i was walking back towards the PRBO field station in mono city from Mill Creek around noon and spotted a Myiarchus flycatcher! It was perched about 15 feet away in good light. it had rufous on the underside of the tail, and was relitvely large. the bill was around a third the size of the head. the cheek throat and breast were very light colored, almost white looking, and it had a very pale lemon wash around the vent. if it hadnt been in such good light, i might not have seen the lemon color. i checked out Sibley's when i got home and the Ash Throated (M. cinerascens)fits the bill.
