Comments

At the lakeshore just as the sun was setting, Eared Grebes began swimming and diving suddenly. It was quiet, and suddenly it was noticeable that there were paddling sounds, and the grebes paddling would then dive. There was nothing around to frighten them and they hadn't done it earlier, but suddenly they were all doing this. . The alkali flies had been flying all in the same direction at about 3 mph along the shore while the sun was shining, but after it went down they stopped. Why do alkali flies fly?
