Yesterday while working in our office in Lee Vining, something smashed into the window. I was startled and looked outside. A Fox Sparrow sat in a tree nearby, shaking cobwebs out of its head. This morning I heard it out the door. I walked over and it was in a bush across the alley. A juvenile White-crowned Sparrow was in the bush as well. They were patiently chasing each other around and around the dense branches. I talked to the Fox Sparrow and it stopped and jumped up to the top of the shrub to look at me. The White-crowned, never giving up, locked onto the Fox Sparrow's tail with its beak, pulling it back into the bush. The chasing resumed. I also saw a Golden-crowned Sparrow at the coffee shop, in the sunflowers. This place rocks.
