Cruzed the southeast shore today by ski, still enough snow, barely. Along the lakeshore, I happened upon 7 spp. of birds including 11 Horned Larks, 6 Common Ravens, 17 Mallards, 1 Eared Grebe, 7 Ruddy Ducks, 12 Canada Geese and two beautiful male Canvasbacks. No Mono Lake winter records in Gaines?
