dead and alive everywhere. It's carnage along Hwy 395, and the Brewer's Blackbirds that nest along the roadway are getting fat. A significant pulse of these butterflies are inundating the Mono Basin, and it's impossible to drive a mile and not splatter your winshield with a couple dozen. Among the fluttering fury are Common Buckeyes, though much more sparse.
