I forgot to mention: on the Ovenbird, I clearly saw the black malar stripe. I did not see the orange crown. Going from Jon Dunn's Warbler book, I would guess it was the southwestern subspecies found from Saskatchewan down the eastern slope of the Rockies, from its grayish, and not-as-green upperparts.
