Stink Bug invasion

There are hordes of these little guys (Family Pentatomidae) throughout the sage around Lee Vining Creek. There are highways of two different species moving between shrubs and they especially seem to be going for Ephedra, feeding on the female strobili. There must be millions, it's as if the ground is alive.
