The unusual and early timing of the Bullock's Oriole is the reason I posted the sighting. My crinkled, coffee stained and very loved copy of Gaines' phenomenal tome of eastern sierra and Yosemite bird life is always the first source I go to after an unusual sighting. Excitingly, there are many timing, elevation, abundance and distribution observations that now exist outside of those he so carefully recorded. I think Dave Marquart had a Hooded at his feeder much earlier in the spring than my initial posting. As far as INBU, all of my sightings in the Mono Basin are during expected times, so I am no help there. Good thing Kelly and Bartshe got such an amazing photo.
