It's hot on Rush Creek, and there is still a ton of water flowing into Mono Lake. Mosquitoes are absurd this year, and the roses haven't been this much in bloom since 2003. The Willow Flycatchers are getting hammered by cowbirds yet again, but they are trying. Over the last few days I've seen Nashville Warblers, Cassin's Vireos, and Plumbeous Vireos - summer-dispersing adults that are signs that the breeding season is over for many of our birds all ready. Here are a few photos from my time on Rush.
