Saw it this afternoon (Saturday, Oct7) at about 6pm flying over Paul's yard toward the big cottonwood trees just north of the 76 Station. Paul saw a Merlin in town on Thursday as well, so maybe it's the same one and maybe it's hanging around. I think of them as the wolverine of the falcon world, relatively small but indominatably fierce. And the Eared Grebes are swarming on the lake right now. Tens upon tens of thousands are easy to see from 395 each and every morning. They seem to disperse a bit when the winds pick up, but in the morning time there are just so so many of them.
