I swear years ago I witnessed thousands of pink and white flamingos at Mono Lake one day while driving to Hot Creek and Eureka Dunes/Saline Valley. I was with a friend who has worked for years as a trail guide in the Sierras and he said they were migratory flamingos. Years later a friend was talking about Mono and I commented about my sighting and she looked at me like I was crazy. Were my eyes fooling me or has there ever been flamingos there? Much thanks, Roger Grubb roger@grubb.net
