There was a COMMON LOON on Mono Lake this morning, visible from the County Park boardwalk. It was in winter plumage and did not appear to be finding any fish. At Dechambeau Ponds there was a single male BLUE-WINGED TEAL among the many CINNAMON TEAL. A GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was patrolling the pond edges. Down the road at County Ponds two WHITE-FACED IBIS circled around and landed. I also spotted a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER in the brush about a quarter mile north of where Wilson Creek crosses Cemetery Road.
