1/24/08 we had a 12-hour break in snowfall (3am-3pm) following 40 hours of continuous lake-enhanced snow adding up to 2 feet in Lee Vining. A gull was hanging out most of the day around the elementary school and the Nicely's dumpster. A California Gull in late January isn't unheard of--every few years one is spotted (River Gates, 1/22/05; Jeff Darlington 1/25/01; And not in January- Bartshe Miller 12/29/00).
