On Tuesday, LADWP installed a new lake level gauge at a new location--Old Marina.
This location is more easily accessible than the old gauge after heavy snows. It also
provides an opportunity to make the lake level readings more accessible to visitors.
An interpretive sign is planned that will tell visitors how to read the gauge and convert
it to a "real" elevation. Binoculars (or a boat) are needed to read the gauge.

Current gauge reading = 2.67 feet
Current Lake Level = 6384.76 feet above sea level*

* Current lake level based on old gauge (1M) reading of 0.94'. Gauge 1M had a zero elevation of 6383.82' asl (USGS).
New gauge has not yet been surveyed, but if gauge 1M is still correct, the new gauge is likely to have a zero
elevation of 6382.09' asl.
