South Tufa
This is the classic school field trip site, and is appropriate for all student levels.
A naturalist-led program at South Tufa introduces students to the Mono Lake ecosystem and water issues. Most programs last a little over an hour. Walking distance is one mile and the trail loops through a large tufa grove at the lakeshore and returns through native shrubs and grasses. Your natrualist guide can easily adapt this program for all student age levels.

We can schedule a guide for your group based on your specific area of focus. We have staff and volunteers with diverse backgrounds and years of outdoor education experience.
