Trail Chic fashion show fundraiser
Join us for the best—and maybe only?—fashion show in the Eastern Sierra! It's a super fun fundraiser for the Mono Basin Outdoor Education Center Access Fund.
The Trail Chic fashion show fundraiser started in 2010, dreamed up by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly's Randy Arnold and Bonnie Harvey & Michael Houlihan. The five Trail Chic events held since then have raised over $14,000 for the OEC Access Fund, which helps bring groups of underserved students, most from Southern California, to the Mono Basin for five days of life-changing outdoor activities and hands-on learning about the source of their water.
The fashion show models are endlessly creative—the AstroTurf runway has been graced by backpackers, coyotes, a snowman, climbers, a raven, the gull fence, paddlers, birders, people-watching birds, a ladybug, a dragonfly, alien hikers, an alkali fly, an alkali barfly, invasive weeds, an iron ranger, an aspen tree, a badger, Her Royal Hikeness Kate Middleton, tufa towers, brine shrimp, Mono Lake personified, a mermaid, the sunrise, tufa ballerinas, and more! Check out the yearly recaps on the Mono-logue below to see photos.
