Four years later and nine feet higher,
sizable sections of the boardwalk have been
lifted for the rising lake which is now at 6384
feet. |

January 1999. Approximately 11:00 AM just
before the Tufa State Reserve controlled burn.
East shore marsh vegetation was burned as part of
the restoration and ecosystem management plan for
the Mono Basin. |

The same day, approximately two hours later.
The controlled burn quickly and safely burned 50
acres of land right down to the shoreline. For
