What:  The Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore will feature a photographic exhibit by world-renowned photographer George Lepp. This show will include photographs of Mono Lake, the Eastern Sierra, and natural subjects surrounding Mono Lake. Available for purchase will be original photographs, and George’s books Beyond The Basics I and II: Innovative techniques for Outdoor/Nature Photography.

Where:  The Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore, Highway 395 at Third Street, located in Lee Vining.

Who:  George Lepp is an independent professional nature and outdoor photographer known for his outstanding ability to evaluate and explain new photographic technologies. His cover credits include Natural History, Outdoor Photographer, PCPhoto, Arizona Highways, Wilderness and Car & Driver to name only a few. His photographs have appeared in such major publications as Reader’s Digest, People, National Wildlife, Time-Life Books and National Geographic Books.

George Lepp is the field editor and columnist for Outdoor Photographer and PC Photo magazines and publishes The Natural Image and The Digital Image, quarterly journals for nature photographers. George is a long time supporter of the Mono Lake Committee.

Press and Public invited to the Following Events

Saturday April 21st, Photographic Exhibit Opening:
This photography exhibit will feature images of Mono Lake and the Great Basin, as well as images of birds, flowers and other natural subjects found in the area around Mono Lake. Also available will be a complete selection of George Lepp’s work: Photographs and his two books on techniques for outdoor and nature photography.  This exhibit will run from April 20th throughout the fall of 2001. Please visit the Mono Lake Committee Information Center and Bookstore to view this exhibit. Summer hours of the Bookstore are 9am to 10pm. Please call (760) 647-6595 for more information.

Saturday, July 28th Artist Reception and Book Signing:
The Mono Lake Committee will host an Artist Reception in honor of world-renowned photographer George Lepp. Light refreshments and drinks will be provided. The reception will be held from 4pm to 7pm.

George Lepp will be available to sign his two Beyond the Basics Books: Beyond the Basics :Innovative Techniques for Outdoor/Nature Photography I and II. These items will be available for sale to those who wish the author to personalize them. Please join us.

The Mono Lake Committee is a non-profit citizens’ group dedicated to protecting and restoring the Mono Basin ecosystem: educating the public about Mono lake and the impacts on the environment of excessive water use and promoting co-operative solutions that protect Mono lake and meet real water needs without transferring environmental problems to other areas.
