WHEN: Thursday, June 11, 1998, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. WHERE: Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, 111 North Hope Street, Los Angeles. Parking is available at the DWP customer lot with validation for two hours. WHO: David Freeman, General Manager of LADWP, and Ruth Galanter, Los Angeles City Councilwoman, will welcome the international visitors to Los Angeles. Dr. Berend Harnagel, Director of World EXPO 2000, to be held in Hannover, Germany, June 1 - October 31, 2000, will announce the EXPOs selection of Living Lakes and Mono Lake as a featured program project. Ed Manning, Co-chair, Mono Lake Committee, and Professor Gerhard Thielcke, President, Global Nature Fund, will describe the Living Lakes project. Marc del Piero, Board Member, California State Water Resources Control Board, representing the California EPA, Fritz Brickwedde of the German Environmental Fund, and a representative of Unilever International will also announce their support for the new project. Representatives of lakes from the United States, Germany, Japan, Greece, South Africa and Spain will be present and available for interviews.
