Memorial service April 19 for Andrea Lawrence

A memorial service for Andrea Mead Lawrence is being planned for Sunday, April 19 in Mammoth Lakes. The service will be held at Mammoth Mountain. April 19 would have been Andrea’s birthday.

The Lawrence family and the Andrea Lawrence Institute for Mountains and Rivers are gathering stories, tributes, and photos of Andrea to be compiled into a publication honoring her life and vision.

Directions to Mammoth Lakes, California:
From Los Angeles:
Driving from Southern California will take approximately 6 hours. Take the 405 freeway north to the 5 freeway north to Highway 14 north to Highway 395 north. Exit on Highway 203 to Mammoth Lakes.

From San Diego / Orange County:
Driving from the San Diego area will take approximately 7.5 hours and from the Orange County area will take approximately 6 hours. Take the 15 freeway north to Highway 395 north. Exit on Highway 203 to Mammoth Lakes.

From Reno / Lake Tahoe:
Driving from the Reno/Tahoe area will take approximately 3 hours. Take Highway 395 south. Exit on Highway 203 to Mammoth Lakes.

From Northern California / Bay Area:
Driving from the San Francisco / Sacramento areas will take approximately 5-7 hours. Depending on the season and road conditions, various routes may be taken. Please consult Caltrans at 800-427-7623, the California Highway Patrol or your local Triple A (AAA) office for the best route from your area.

Directions to the Memorial Service:
Once you exit Highway 395 onto Highway 203 continue in to town. Turn right at the second stoplight light (Whiskey Creek Restaurant will be at the far right side of the intersection). Continue on Higway 203 for 6 miles to the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area Main Lodge. Main Lodge is the large building on the left across from the large statue of a Mammoth. The Memorial Service will be held on the 3rd floor of the Main Lodge at the Mountainside Conference Center and Roma’s Room.
