Yellow-billed Cuckoo at Mill Creek
July 9th, 2009 by Sacha HeathDate of sighting: July 9, 2009
Skulking in some tall willows and old mature cottonwoods about 0.5 km downstream of 395. It skulked, I got this lucky picture, and it flew. I looked around for about 20 more minutes but did not see it again. Cuckoos are definitely reptiles, slithering around the cottonwoods. Justin, if you bake me a cake I’ll give you the GPS coords.
Also, a Black-headed Grosbeak nest in a Buffalo Berry and a Red-tailed Hawk nest with two young. They were flying but still hanging out in the nest receiving parental protection and snacks.
And water, glorious water.
