Name: Morgan Lindsay
Title: Project Specialist
About: Morgan works to support the protection and restoration of Mono Lake and its tributary streams in the office and out in the field. She loves doing something different every day, from monitoring the lake's rise and groundwater patterns along the creek's bottomlands to researching policy issues. But after three summers sharing Mono Lake with visitors by canoe, Morgan's favorite job will always be making new friends for the lake. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College with an Environmental Studies degree in Water Science & Policy, there is nowhere Morgan would rather be than the Mono Basin. If she's not out hiking, skiing, or digging in the dirt with the Sierra Bounty CSA, Morgan's probably at rehearsal for the next Eastern Sierra theatrical adventure—eager for any socially acceptable excuse to sport a goatee.See All Posts by Morgan (33)

In addition to celebrating the opening of Tioga Pass this Saturday June 5, at 8am, be sure to celebrate National Trails Day! In honor of National Trails Day, entrance to South Tufa and Yosemite National Park is free this weekend, on Saturday June 5 and Sunday June 6. Catch a free one hour tour of South Tufa at 1pm both Saturday and Sunday or explore the tufa groves on your own self-guided walk.
The first Saturday in June, National Trails Day is intended as an opportunity for everyone to enjoy their public lands, and celebrate the many volunteers who work to build and maintain the 200,000 miles of trails in the United States. You can learn more about National Trails Day from the American Hiking Society here.
Several other free entrance days to Yosemite National Park are planned for 2010 including August 14-15, September 25 (Public Lands Day), and November 11 (Veterans Day).
