Resource use & good business
September 19th, 2012 by Ben, Mono Lake InternA new study published in “McKinsey Quarterly” demonstrates what many business owners have long recognized—good resource management and efficient resource use is simply good business.
The McKinsey study shows that as commodity prices rise with growing scarcity and increased demand from expanding middle class populations across Asia and India, companies that want to maintain their profit margins and competitive prices will be increasingly forced to use resources like water, energy, and timber more efficiently. We can only hope that this forced movement towards efficiency does not arrive too late.
