Holiday shopping feature: Holiday cards

This post was written by Angie Glaser, 2012 Project Specialist.

It is snowing in Lee Vining today, and the holidays seem to be approaching at warp speed. December 25th is, in fact, only 45 days away, and the time to send holiday cards has arrived. Luckily, you can find four different sets of holiday cards in the Mono Lake Committee’s online store, each with a different creature inspiring holiday cheer. If your list of card recipients includes bird lovers, you may want to check out the beautiful trumpeter swan card set, the noble raven card set, or the playful chickadee card set.  Each card features an artfully-crafted image of the bird with a festive holiday background.

Perhaps you are more interested in adorable, furry, high alpine mammals…. If so, the pika card set is for you. Each card features a pika preparing for the Christmas season with a bouquet of holiday grasses in his mouth. Each of the four card sets includes envelopes and ten identical cards with a message on the inside: “May you have a Happy Holiday and a Joyous New Year!”

For more information on these items and more, or to place an order, visit our online store. Be sure to keep checking back as we continue to add new items from our fall catalog….
