Sunrise light on a grove of tufa towers emerging from the water of Mono Lake with soft green and dusty-red wild grasses in the foreground, Canada geese in the shallow water with reflections of the rocky towers, and desert hills in the distance.

It’s Tioga Pass flip-flop season … the pass is closed

  1. Is there a record of the number of closed/open times for the road in a month? Normal years, we have it open, and stay that way. Maybe a day due to a passing storm. But this “flip-flop” frequency?!

Personally, I’ll take the unseasonably nature of the weather we’re having. I’d rather have moist and cool than hot and dry. That’s certainly coming…we all know it. I’ll take a rain/snow squall a week (or more often) through the summer.
