While its claim to fame is “only one hill,” the Tioga Pass Run is one hefty task.

Over 12.4 miles, runners and walkers ascend 3,164 feet from Lee Vining to the eastern entrance of Yosemite National Park. Along the way, Mt. Dana stands proudly over Lee Vining Canyon, holding what’s left of last winter’s snowpack in its couloirs. The meadows of Lee Vining Canyon are turning golden with the approach of fall, and if you pay attention, you will probably see raptors circling below you, on the hunt for their next meal. The eastern ascent of Tioga Pass proves worth the lack of oxygen and the tired legs, every time.

Join us for the beauty and challenge of the Tioga Pass Run on September 11, 2016. Registration is $60, with online registration open until the day before the race here. Day-of registration can be done in person in front of the Mono Lake Committee’s Information Center & Bookstore from 6:30–7:30am. The race starts at 7:00am for walkers and 8:00am for runners.

Car shuttles will be available to transport gear bags to the finish line during the run and to provide participants with transportation back to Lee Vining after the run. There will be aid stations at miles 3, 6, 9, and at the finish. A picnic, raffle, and award ceremony will be held at the Whoa Nellie Deli (Mobil gas station) after all runners have completed the race. Your registration price includes a voucher for free fish or veggie tacos at the Whoa Nellie Deli at the post-race picnic. Proceeds from the run benefit the Mono Lake Committee.
