This post was written by Gabrielle Renteria, 2015 Bookstore Assistant, 2016 Mono Lake Intern, 2016–2018 Project Specialist.

The deadline to submit applications for the 2017 Mono Lake Committee Scholarship is this Friday, May 12 at 5:00pm.

Each year the Committee awards two $1,000 scholarships to seniors who display a connection to Mono Lake and the Mono Lake story. All Mono County seniors with plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university within a year of graduation are encouraged to apply. Simply head down to the lake and answer the question: Why are places like Mono Lake important?
