The holiday season is fast approaching, and many of us are beginning to think about choosing the perfect gifts for our friends and family. While the Mono Lake Committee online store and fall catalog (located in the fall Newsletter) offer many great gift options that support Mono Lake, it’s unlikely we’ll have something for everyone on your list. But don’t fret, you can still help Mono Lake while shopping on Amazon! It’s super easy to make sure your online shopping gives back to the Mono Lake Committee—all you have to do is follow this link when you shop.

For every purchase made on Amazon using this link 5% is donated to the Mono Lake Committee through the Amazon Associate program, and that 5% really ads up. (Yes, it’s really 5%, not 0.5%, like most non-profits get!) Last year we made a record breaking $4,100, and we’re hoping to make 2016 another chart-topping year.

So far this year we’ve raised $2,682 dollars through Amazon, and we have a goal of reaching $4,500 before 2016 concludes—so we’re going to need your help. Next time you take to the web to do some shopping over the holidays, or any time of year, be sure to follow  this link so that your purchases will benefit Mono Lake.

Thanks for all of your support, and happy shopping!

If you’ve ever visited the Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore in person, then you know our location is quite remote. As a result, mail shipped from the Mono Lake Committee isn’t as speedy as mail from, say, Los Angeles or the Bay Area. Add in the possibility of winter storms and delayed travel, and you’ll understand how the term “snail mail” came to be.

We want to make sure you get your Mono Lake Committee gifts by Christmas—therefore, we are now sending out our last call for shipping. Place your orders by Wednesday, December 16 to ensure that they reach you by Christmas using standard shipping. Place your orders by Friday, December 18 and select expedited shipping if you’re placing a last-minute order (added charges will apply). And once again, thank you so much for your support!
