DESCRIPTION:Join a naturalist-guide for an easy stroll through a variety of habitats including wetlands\, willows\, sagebrush scrub\, and cottonwood trees. This location provides excellent opportunities for birding and general sightseeing. Meet at the County Park parking lot (directions below). This guided\, 1.5–2 hour walk is appropriate for all experience levels and age groups. DESCRIPTION:During the summer (roughly July through September)\, Refreshing ‘Ologists lectures happen on Wednesdays at 4:00pm in the Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore gallery. Presentations last about one hour and include light refreshments. \n\n\n\nCome hear from the researchers who are conducting studies in the Mono Basin and the surrounding area on topics like hydrology\, wildlife\, birds\, climate change\, and more. SUMMARY:Los Angeles Aqueduct Tour (FULL)
DESCRIPTION:The Mono Basin extension of the Los Angeles Aqueduct began exporting water 350 miles south to the City of LA in 1941. Today\, the aqueduct must balance competing needs instead of exclusively serving one. Join Mono Lake Committee Education Director Rose Nelson for a focused\, field-based investigation of the north end of the aqueduct.
