DESCRIPTION:Join a naturalist-guide for an easy stroll through a variety of habitats including wetlands\, willows\, sagebrush scrub\, and cottonwood trees. This location provides excellent opportunities for birding and general sightseeing. Meet at the County Park parking lot (directions below). This guided\, 1.5–2 hour walk is appropriate for all experience levels and age groups. SUMMARY:Eastern Sierra Volcanism (FULL)
DESCRIPTION:The Eastern Sierra is a fascinating place to learn about volcanoes and the volcanic history of the region. From the Long Valley Caldera and the Glass Mountain Range to Mammoth Mountain\, Mono-Inyo Craters\, and into the Mono Basin\, we will explore some of the world-class volcanic features in Mono Lake’s backyard. This seminar will involve moderate hiking at elevations from 6\,500-11\,000 feet above sea level. We will likely walk 2-3 miles over the course of the day\, some of which is off trail and will be short and steep. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nview itinerary\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWAITLIST\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\nDate: September 17–18\, 2022 \n\n\n\nInstructor: Claire Landowski \n\n\n\nPrice: $180 for members / $195 for the public  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration: Begins February 17\, 2022 at 9:00am PST for Mono Lake Committee members. \n\n\n\nQuestions?
