SUMMARY:Rare Birding in Mono County (FULL)
DESCRIPTION:This birding seminar will scour the county looking for rare birds that show up during the fall migration. We will seek out rare birds that have been reported and we will bird several hotspots where rarities tend to show up looking for more! This seminar requires patience and enthusiasm for long days. There are no guarantees of seeing the rare birds\, but we will do our best to find them as well as to enjoy what we see\, regardless of rarity. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nview itinerary\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nwaitlist\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\nDate: September 24–25\, 2022 \n\n\n\nInstructor: Nora Livingston \n\n\n\nPrice: $180 for members / $195 for the public \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration: Begins February 17\, 2022 at 9:00am PST for Mono Lake Committee members. \n\n\n\nQuestions? Contact the field seminar team by email or phone at (760) 647-6595. \n\n\n\n\n\nActivity level: DIFFICULT \n\n\n\nThis seminar’s activity level: difficult. Because we cannot plan this seminar in advance\, participants will need to be prepared for anything! This seminar will consist of two long\, tiring\, rewarding days in the field. We may be walking up to five miles a day\, some of which will be over uneven terrain\, off trail\, and will include stepping up and over obstacles. This type of walking requires good balance\, some agility\, and stamina. Be prepared for short\, steep sections of trail.

SUMMARY:Mono Basin Tree Identification
DESCRIPTION:From cottonwoods and willows along creeks to gnarled windswept pines high in the mountains\, the Mono Basin and adjacent mountains provide a wonderful gradient to look at trees and tree-like shrubs in their respective plant communities. While the diversity may not be as impressive as the East Coast\, there are plenty of trees to learn about and celebrate here in the Eastern Sierra. This one-day seminar will delve into the diversity of trees in the Mono Basin and their identifying traits. We will examine\, observe\, and even smell the trees to help ingrain the knowledge into our senses. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nview itinerary\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDetails\n\n\n\nDate: September 3\, 2022 \n\n\n\nInstructor: Nora Livingston \n\n\n\nPrice: $130 for members / $145 for the public \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration: Begins February 17\, 2022 at 9:00am PST for Mono Lake Committee members. \n\n\n\nQuestions?
