Orange aspens in the Mono Basin

We’re seeing some fall color in the Mono Basin this week, most notably in this beautiful orange patch of aspens on the Parker Bench below Mt. Wood.

When fall days are warm and sunny while the nights are cool, aspen leaves change to brilliant colors. That’s exactly the weather we’ve been having these days, so hopefully bright autumn colors are on their way. Stay tuned here on the Mono-logue and check the California Fall Color website for updates, and take a look at this brochure for more information on fall color in the Eastern Sierra.
