Trail Chic 2013 … how are we ever going to top that?

Last Saturday night was the Trail Chic Fashion Show fundraiser for the Mono Lake Committee’s outdoor education programs. It’s one of those things that if you weren’t there, it’s hard to describe, so I’ll just say that it was a super fun evening and a great fundraiser, and I’ll let the photos do the rest.

Trail Chic is a fashion show where people get seriously creative inspired by the concept of being “trail chic” and then rock their fashions to fun music on an astroturf runway. You can see Tuolumne Ranger Margaret Eissler as a hiking flapper girl out there with the pine needles, sticks, and rocks.
Project Specialist Erik Lyon’s Iron Ranger costume was a big hit … and an extra fundraiser too!
A pack of local, very hip climbers because, you know, girls just wanna have fun.
Former Committee staff member Nora Livingston as a badger!
Outdoor Experiences Instructor Jessica Francois was an aspen tree, complete with arborglyphs.
We enjoyed a beautiful spread by our friends Randy and Greg with Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and trail snacks from the Mono Market.

The idea for the Trail Chic Fashion Show came from Bonnie Harvey and Michael Houlihan of Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, and it is still made possible by Barefoot and the unending enthusiasm of former Mono Lake Committee Intern and Barefoot Ambassador, Randy Arnold and his partner Greg Knight. Big thanks also go to Chris Lizza of the Mono Market for fresh homemade trail snacks. And many thanks to the folks at Patagonia for providing gear … all to support the Mono Lake Committee’s outdoor education programs in the Mono Basin!
