South Tufa tours

Join a naturalist-guide for a tour among strange tufa towers, bubbling springs, birds, wildlife, brine shrimp, and the behind-the-scenes story of the most unusual lake in California. This one-hour-long, guided tour is great for all ages and includes hands-on activities and an overview of the human and natural history of Mono Lake. Advance reservations are recommended.

South Tufa tours will resume in spring 2024.

Birding tours

Mono Lake County Park birding tours

Join a naturalist-guide for a leisurely tour through a variety of habitats including wetlands, willows, sagebrush scrub, and cottonwood trees. This location provides excellent opportunities for birding and general sightseeing, and this guided, 1.5–2 hour tour is appropriate for all experience levels and age groups.

Mono Lake County Park birding tours will resume in May 2024.

Lundy Canyon birding tours

Join a naturalist-guide for a leisurely tour up Lundy Canyon, where the convergence of coniferous forest, sagebrush scrub, riparian woodlands, and open water provides habitat for many bird species. This guided, 1.5–2 hour tour is appropriate for all experience levels and age groups.

Lundy Canyon birding tours will resume in May 2024.
