How much do you think Mono Lake will rise this summer?

After a record-breaking snowy winter, Mono Lake is on the rise! As of June 1, the lake had risen 2.1 feet from its December low point, and this is just the beginning. Our team of Mono Basin hydrology experts are predicting that Mono Lake could rise another two to four feet by September 1.

But we wanted to ask you: How much do you think Mono Lake will rise this summer?

You can submit your guess and help protect the lake at the same time by donating one dollar for every inch you think Mono Lake will rise this summer (June 1–September 1). You can use our 2023 Mono Lake level forecast to inform your guess. If you are correct within one inch, we’ll send you a special Mono Lake sticker in the fall.

The average guess for how much Mono Lake will rise from June 1 to September 1 is 45.2 inches (3.8 feet).

The most common guess is 42 inches.

The range of guesses is 12–90 inches.
