Tioga Pass run registration is open

Although we are still waiting for Highway 120 West to open between Lee Vining and Yosemite National Park, everyone here at the Mono Lake Committee is already dreaming of the adventures we’ll have in the high country this summer.

One of our annual events in the area, the Tioga Pass Run, is already in the planning stages and registration just opened this week. This year’s race is on Sunday, September 8, 2024, so there’s still plenty of time to train!

The new Tioga Pass Run T-shirt logo.

This fun and challenging event gives racers a unique opportunity to experience the Highway 120 corridor on their own two feet, whether they choose to run or walk the 12.4-mile-long course. Not only is the distance a worthy challenge itself, but the elevation gain of around 3,200 feet will also test your endurance.

The course stats may seem intimidating, but the atmosphere is encouraging and fun. The Tioga Pass Run is always well-attended by local and not-so-local athletes of all ages, enthusiastic volunteers, and features a range of local sponsors as well, which makes for a wonderful environment from start to finish.

The Tioga Pass Run is getting a new look this year as well! We worked with a designer to revamp the logo into a design that represents the experience of racing up the highway into the mountains of Yosemite. Register before August 23, 2024 to make sure you get a race T-shirt with the new logo!

If you’re interested in registering, you can do so here. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, contact me by email or at (760) 647-6595. We hope to see you out on the course on September 8!
