Memorial service held for Andrea Mead Lawrence

This past Sunday, over 500 people gathered at Mammoth Mountain to pay tribute to Andrea Mead Lawrence on what would have been her 77th birthday.

The event featured a roster of speakers, a video about her achievements from Olympic historian Bud Greenspan, a display of photographs from her many accomplishments, and a chance for friends to share stories and memories.

I had the honor of joining a wonderful group of people who spoke personally and passionately of Andrea’s accomplishments and character. Several folks kindly requested that I post the text of my speech online, and you can read the PDF file here.
