This post was written by Erika Obedzinski, 2010 Office Director.

Two years ago, Natalie Holt spent much of her summer volunteering for the Mono Lake Committee—leading tours and helping with a variety projects in the office. More recently, for her senior high school project, Natalie created  a seven-minute film called “Environmental Identity,” featuring our very own Communications Coordinator Elin Ljung!

In the film Natalie interviews Elin, a park ranger, an Earth First activist, and the owner of a green products store, asking what motivates, inspires and concerns them most about the work that they do. Along with the engaging interviews, Natalie has put together great music and great views of the Mono Basin and beyond—it’s definitely worth a look.

Before attending college in the fall, Natalie will be working on WWOOF farms in Washington learning about permaculture and sustainable land use.  In college she will continue to pursue a path in the environmental field, and we are lucky that she will also continue her visits to and enthusiasm for Mono Lake.
