Talking Mono Lake in Southern California on July 1

If you are in the Venice – Los Angeles – Southern California area and want a taste of the Eastern Sierra, come on over to the Eastern Sierra Land Trust’s event this weekend. I’ll be there Sunday July 1 as part of a Eastern Sierra discussion panel, and there will be great art and conversation. Here are the details:
The Eastern Sierra Land Trust’s fourth annual Art for Conservation Show & Sale will be held at the G2 Gallery in Venice Beach, California.
Featured in the exhibit are seven photographers of note, all from the Eastern Sierra region. The photographers include Andy Selters, John Dittli, Londie Padelsky, Nolan Nitschke, Rick Kattelmann, Robb Hirsch, Stephen Ingram, and Vern Clevenger. All proceeds from the art sales will benefit the Eastern Sierra Land Trust.
Artist Reception: June 30, 2012, 6:30 – 9:00 pm
Join the G2 Gallery, Barbara Gluck, and Eastern Sierra Land Trust for this joint opening reception in honor of Barbara Gluck and the goals of the Land Trust to preserve the Eastern Sierra. A $5 donation at the door will directly support the ESLT. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Eastern Sierra Past, Present, and Future: An Experts Panel: July 1, 2012, 3:30 pm
The Eastern Sierra is a historically significant and iconic region in California’s diverse landscape. In conjunction with the exhibit Art for Conservation, The G2 Gallery presents a panel of representatives from the area’s most active organizations dedicated to the preservation of the Eastern Sierra, including Karen Ferrell-Ingram of the Eastern Sierra Land Trust, Chris Langley of the Alabama Hills Stewardship Group, and Geoff McQuilkin of the Mono Lake Committee. A $5 donation at the door will directly support the Eastern Sierra Land Trust. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
