More news on Sacramento mismanagement of state parks funds

The Sacramento Bee has been investigating the millions of dollars that were set aside and covered up by Sacramento administrators of the state park system. The initial news led to the resignation of State Park Director Ruth Coleman; over the past weekend the Bee reported more details.

Official investigation reports are still pending and will reveal the full story. But with State Parks scrambling to stay open, it’s never good to read quotes like this about the administrators in question: he “fell into the trap of thinking of it as—as his own money … that money is the department’s and it needs to be spent on the department’s priorities.”

  1. It makes me hurt that the people in California have to suffer losing tax money meant for the parks which we deserve to go to on our vacations. Shame on the people who did that to us, “we the people”.
