2012 Free Drawing: Are you a winner?

January 17th, 2013 by Lynette, Project Specialist

It’s always exciting to deliver good news to people, and this month I had the pleasure of doing just that! With a little help from my ladybug friend (see photo) and a handful of cheery and encouraging fellow Mono Lake Committee staff, on January 3, 29 tickets, out of thousands, were drawn for the 2012 Free Drawing for Mono Lake.

After names were drawn congratulations were in order—I called each winner to notify them they had won a prize. A full list of prizes can be found here. Although I have not spoken to all of the winners, most people I’ve spoken to are totally surprised. “I’ve never won anything in a raffle or free drawing before!” is my favorite response. So, be sure to check your voicemail, as you may have a message from me that you’ve won one of the Free Drawing prizes.

The annual Free Drawing is the gift that keeps on giving—29 people won prizes, the Mono Lake Committee raised funds to continue restoration and protection of Mono Lake, and I got to be the bearer of good news.

We would like to thank all of the Free Drawing donors for their support, the drawing would not be possible without prizes. And many thanks to everyone who bought tickets too.

Keep your eyes peeled for a future Mono-logue post featuring a list of the 2013 Free Drawing prizes….
