Old Marina is one of the easiest spots to get a quick glimpse of Mono Lake.

Located just off Highway 395 one mile north of Lee Vining, Old Marina hosts several large tufa towers as well as an astounding view of Mono Lake's large islands. There is a short trail to the water's edge, and a handicapped-accessible path leading to the David Gaines Memorial Boardwalk. A new 1.5-mile trail opened in 2009, which goes from Old Marina to the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center.
