The Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore, located in the town of Lee Vining, is a great spot to stop and get your bearings regarding Mono Lake.

The friendly staff is always happy to answer questions, help visitors plan outings, and provide Chamber of Commerce information. It is the headquarters of the non-profit group working to obtain long-term protection and restoration of the Mono Lake ecosystem. General information on Mono Lake is available, as well as detailed displays on Mono Lake's political history and the current efforts of the Mono Lake Committee, and a free 27-minute film called The Mono Lake Story. The bookstore offers a comprehensive selection of books on natural and local history, indigenous peoples, and environmental writing. Also for sale are T-shirts, maps, and gifts. Copier, fax, digital photo download, CD burning, and internet access are available for a fee. A wireless hotspot is available for members.
