Watch Mono Lake on KCET Sunday Nov 23!

Tonight, November 23, 2008, is a big night for Mono Lake. It will be featured in a full hour on KCET (the Los Angeles PBS station) in the show California’s Gold! Huell Howser’s exploration of Mono Lake will be on at 7:00 pm. It’s particularly fun because the show includes both his visit of 15 years ago and his return this summer to see the how our hard-won implementation of the lake’s protection is proceeding.

I enjoyed spending the day with Huell. I think our canoe trip, South Tufa visit, and lots more came together nicely in the show. I’m glad my California’s Gold lake measuring device (designed to measure how far the lake had risen since Huell’s last visit) made the final cut!

We’ve had a chance for a sneak preview here in the office and we know you’ll enjoy the show. We also have DVDs of the episode now available–you can get a copy to keep and support Mono Lake by purchasing it from our online store.

And of course if you aren’t a Mono Lake Committee member and the show got you excited about our favorite lake, we’d love to include you in the Mono Lake family!
