Sunrise light on a grove of tufa towers emerging from the water of Mono Lake with soft green and dusty-red wild grasses in the foreground, Canada geese in the shallow water with reflections of the rocky towers, and desert hills in the distance.

It’s Tioga Pass flip-flop season … tonight it will be closing

Tioga Pass will be closing tonight at 8:00pm due to a snowstorm predicted for tomorrow and through the weekend. In addition, Sonora Pass (Highway 108) will be closing today at 4:00pm.

Since Tioga Pass was opened for the season on May 4, this closure is temporary, and Yosemite National Park will open the road when the weather clears. Remember to always check road conditions before you travel.
