Spring has arrived in the Mono Basin, and with it a new art show now adorning the walls of the Mono Lake Committee gallery. In her new show, “Sierra Study: Observations in the Range of Light,” Sarah Attar, an Eastern Sierra-based photographer and former Olympic athlete, combines her passion for running and photography to capture unique glimpses of the Eastern Sierra and the people who call them home.

When you step into the gallery, the atmosphere that Sarah’s photographs create is immediately palpable. The moodiness and depth, characteristic of her work, transport you to the moment of capture, where you can almost feel the crispness of the air against your cheeks or the lingering warmth as the sun dips below the horizon. Her work screams silence in the best way possible.

The show will be on display through July 2026, with pieces available as framed prints, unframed prints, and notecards. As always, a portion of the proceeds will go to supporting the Mono Lake Committee’s work. Stay tuned for more details on an artist’s reception where you can meet artist Sarah, see the show, and enjoy some wine and light refreshments. Until then, please stop by the Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore any day from 9:00am to 5:00pm to visit the gallery and check out the show.
