Snow, beautiful Mono Basin snow!

The Mono Lake Committee’s office grounds covered in snow today. That’s just the way we like it in February! Photo by Rose Catron.

Yes, as of 3:00pm we have 12 inches of snow, and counting! Snow for the trees and plants, snow for the pikas and bears and phalaropes, and snow for Mono Lake. We are feeling joyful here at the Mono Lake Committee offices today at the sight of all of this snow.

If you are in the area and want to stop by and say hi, the Mono Lake Committee is open every day from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Please keep in mind that many of the roads in the area are closed or have chain controls. As of today, February 28, cars traveling on Highway 395 must have chains or snow tires. For more information, check the Caltrans website. Enjoy the weather, and travel safe.
